Many will wonder why catholic or NKST churches are not featured on this list... But it just so becos they have many branches and are the stronghold ...

Number 5: THE LORDS CHOSEN 

 If you see anyone dress and has a green bib on,just know that is a member of the lords chosen church.The goal of the church is to capture 8billon souls,and that has been going pretty well in makurdi as if has a very large growing number of members in church,a church which preacher mostly about prosperity and making Heaven the lords chosen is a church most people can leave their church to attend. The lords chosen makes our number 5 spot.

 If the top 5 would have been about BSU,known as the "students church"Dunamis have a vast population of their members as student,with inviting programs like "how to improve ur G.P" it has students rushing for MIRACLES.Dunamis has a well placed church building and people say there are so rich there had to inter lock the whole dunamis street. Dunamis makes the number 4 spot.

Number 3: HOUSE ON THE ROCK

 This is really a house built on a rock,the Pst Abel led church has become a force to be reckoned with in makurdi.Popular for organising nice gospel and crusade concert, the church make our number 3 spot. Even though the church building is not so big,but the church become popular when it used to serve food to "first time worshippers". A well organised and good pastor,House on the rock comes in at number 3.  

Number 2: LIVING FAITH CHURCH

 Arguably the most populated church in the state,living faith is a stand out church,with a church building with the biggest capacity in the state,situated in good area in town,this church is a church to attend. A bus driver once asked me "wetin dem the do inside this church wey people the always full"i still have no answer to that question,but if you come to makurdi,you must hear of living faith for it a very popular church around here.  

 Number 1: SHELTER OF GLORY 

 Shelter of glory has been running for over nothing less than 8 years now and the church has grown from strength,with one of the best church auditoriums in makurdi the church has mass population and plenty offering. Shelter is also loved cause of their support for gospel artist as rumours have it that there pay their artist and the church is part of the reason why artist like Soulz went back to gospel. Shelter is also popular for the fact there have "fyn girls"in their church as that was the main reason a BSU boy told me was the reason he attends the church,and it was the best place to get a wife.
